Theory of Mind

Theory of mind refers to the ability to attribute mental states—such as beliefs, intentions, desires, and emotions—to oneself and others. It involves understanding that different individuals can have unique perspectives, thoughts, and knowledge that may differ from one's own. Studies demonstrate this is learned in children.[1]
